IPMS Ottawa/Farnborough Updates

July 14, 2007

A fair amount has happened over the past few months, making and maintaining the twinning of Farnborough and Ottawa. Most active has been the email link, with requests flowing to and fro over five time zones. I've been able to help with questions as far ranging as the current Airbus being flown by the Canadian Armed Forces, and a Fokker Trimotor flown by the RCAF in the 1930's. Decal and marking requests have been attended to as well.

Plans are in the offing to host Mr. and Mrs. Les Burningham from Farnborough at the upcoming CAPCON 2007: more to follow as we draw closer to that event. You will recall that a Theme trophy is being offered for competition at CAPCON which will continue to mark the twinning of our two clubs. Named the "Twin's Trophy," the theme will change for each future CAPCON. This year's theme is the "Battle of Britain," no surprise given that the date for CAPCON 2007 is September 15th!
