Monthly Club Contests

Online Model Show & Tell (COVID period)

During the COVID period (2020–2022) during which we ceased in-person club meetings, we changed to a virtual Online Model Show & Tell.
Check out the models at the blog site IPMS Ottawa - Monthly Plastic Model Contests created by Dr. John Clearwater (RIP 2022). The blog contains model submissions up to February 2022.

IPMS Ottawa Instagram

Starting in March 2022, we transitioned from the above-mentioned online show & tell blog to an Instagram account maintained by our Contest Coordinator. You can access the new IPMS Ottawa Instagram account even if you do not have an Instagram account of your own.

Resumption of In-Person Club Meetings

We resumed in-person club meetings in October 2022, so we have in-person club contests again.

Club Contest Entry Form

Club Contest Rules
  • Monthly club contests are open to IPMS Ottawa members in good standing.

  • Models must be primarly plastic, although the use of photoetch, metal, or resin detail parts is allowed as those items are widely accepted as a part of modern building methods.

  • Models made primarily of alternate materials — wood, paper, fabric, metal, etc. — are not eligible for monthly club contests.

  • Partially-completed models are not eligible.

  • Model must be the sole work of the member that enters it.

  • Models that were previously entered in club contests are ineligible (regardless if they placed).

  • Models should be appropriate and non-offensive by generally acknowledged standards of taste and acceptability.

  • Models must adhere to the contest theme (if one is defined).

Adhoc Contest Rules

Any type of plastic scale model is eligible.
